About
Rebecca’s dissertation explores musical works that use recorded speech as a compositional object. She is particularly interested in the intersections and conflicts between music and natural language and how speech sounds can be subsumed into musical frameworks. Rebecca also enjoys handling rare books at her side gig in the University of Chicago Library’s Special Collections Research Center.
