The Department of Music is pleased to share the news that Associate Professor of Music and the Humanities Anna C. Schultz has received the Jaap Kunst Prize 2018 Honorable Mention for her article "Translated Fronts: Songs of Socialist Cosmopolitanism in Cold War India." History and Anthropology 28, no. 1 (2017): 1-22.
The prize recognizes the most significant article in ethnomusicology written by a member of the Society for Ethnomusicology and published within the previous year (whether in the journal Ethnomusicology or in another journal or edited collection). The award was presented to Anna by Ludwig Rosenberger Distinguished Service Professor Philip V. Bohlman, who was the 2018 Jaap Kunst Prize Committee Chair, during the Society for Ethnomusicology Annual Meeting in November.
